Rick Clore, Pastor – rclore@obcva.org
Rick is married to Karen Baker Clore, an Instructional Technology Resource Teacher in public schools. Rick and Karen have three grown children–Ryan & wife, Jenny; Katy & husband, Anderson; and Kevin; and one granddaughter–Ava.
Rick enjoys reading history, biographies, church leadership and other non-fiction literature. He also enjoys fishing and meeting new people.
Rick earned a B.A. degree from Averett College in Danville, VA and a Master of Divinity degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. He served First Baptist Church of Danville as Minister of Youth while in college. During his seminary years he served Bullock Baptist Church of Bullock, NC as pastor. From 1989-1996 he served Bybee’s Road Baptist Church, Troy, VA as pastor; 1997-2001 Hull’s Memorial Baptist Church, Fredericksburg, VA as pastor; 2001-2006 Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of Virginia as Coordinator.
He started his ministry with Orange Baptist Church in October 2006. Rick writes, “I experience great satisfaction serving as pastor of Orange Baptist Church. The members are responsive to my leadership style which values every person, his or her spiritual gifts, and personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We are all God’s gifts to each other.”
Alan Miller, Minister of Worship & Music - amiller@obcva.org
Alan graduated from Collegiate School in Richmond, VA, and earned his B.A. degrees in Music and Religion from Furman University in Greenville, SC. At Furman, he played the cello in the Furman Symphony Orchestra, the Furman Chamber Strings, and performed solo literature as well. He was a member of the Furman University Chamber Choir, and The Bell Tower Boys, an all-male a capella group. Alan was also the guitarist and singer in a blues-rock band during college.
Alan is married to Mary Beth. They are the parents of twins–Sarah Embry and Holton. He is a part of the Virginia Baptist Male Chorale, and enjoys singing with his father Bill, and brother, Brent, in their Trio.
He started his ministry with Orange Baptist Church in August 2008. Alan writes, “I have greatly enjoyed getting to know the people of Orange Baptist Church. The congregation is incredibly warm, welcoming and loving of its members, and visitors. There is true Christian community within the church.”
Melinda Cunningham, Administrative Assistant – mclark@obcva.org
Melinda started her employment with Orange Baptist Church in September 1998. She is married to Hank. She has three grown daughters—Kelly & husband, Robert; Amy and Heather and proud grandmother of four–Bobby, Kaitlyn, Jaxon & Madelyn.
Melinda enjoys volunteering her time as a member of the Orange County Rescue Squad, Inc. and has done so since 1990.
